"Productivity: Work Vs. Fun"

I've noticed something about productivity. When I'm at work, I'm productive because, well, its my job to. Whenever I'm busy, I'm working because I have to. Not to say I'm unmotivated, the motivation for working is because I'm at work. It doesn't need to be fun, it just needs to be done. It seems like new ideas are aknowledged, but you have to depend on the opinion of higher ups. Not to say that it's a bad thing, you are simply working for someone else, and you should follow what their guidelines. Its less risky, but also less exporative. When I'm working on something fun, its different. It feels more fulfilling, because I'm looking for the next thing to do with more freedom. Basically, its kinda like working for yourself.

"Boredom" (1/25/2026)

I was bored today, so I decided to go out on a walk in my town in a part that i've never been to before. Basically today is the only day I've gotten off all week, so I had the whole day to myself to decompress. I figured I could go driving until I find something I can do, but there isn't a ton of options. Found myself just driving around on different streets in residential areas, listening to Bôa's album, Twilight. I drove up on the top of a hill that overlooked a part of town i'm familiar with, but from a way different perpsective. The sun was out too, and it wasn't insanely cold either. I thought that it looked really pretty. I parked in an empty parking lot of a neighborhood church a couple blocks away, then walked up the hill to take a look around. When I made it to the top of the hill that I saw earlier, I was astonished at the beauty of the landscape. Northward, towards the heart of town, were neighborhoods and streets denser and denser to one another. Looking southeast, I could see the main highway escaping into the vast hills in the distance. I could see my apartment building somewhat in the middle of the denseness and sparseness. I continued looking as I walked, then I realized just how big my town can feel, just by looking around. I found it interesting that I'd both seen something new and something I've already seen at a totally new perspective. Moral of this story, even if you think you know everything there is to know about something you see every day, there are plenty of things for your discovery. You simply have to get bored and start looking closer.

"First time for everything" (1/18/2026)

Hi, I'm Kris! This is my first blog post on my first ever website! This is where I'll put little life updates and maybe some of my opinions on random stuff. I'm really excited to update this website as I learn more about computers and code. So far, its pretty difficult but I'm having a lot of fun either way. I think its worth it to learn! I'm really distdainful towards a lot of social media platforms these days due to all the ads and AI slop everywhere. That mixed with the issue of being pavlov'd into watching mediocre crap until you find something that might catch your attention slowly wasting more time out of my life than i'd thought would happen. It made me feel like I wasn't being productive or creative enough in stuff I was doing in my day-to-day life. But since deleting most of my social media accounts, I've felt free. Was it boring at first? Yeah. But the good thing about being bored is that you can always find something to do with your time. Since I've always had an interest in machines and computers, I figured that this is a great thing to try out! -Kris.
